These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter the "Terms") set out the terms and conditions of use of the Charta platform, as well as the rights and obligations of the parties in this context.

Use of the platform implies full and complete acceptance of these Terms. By creating an account and checking the acceptance box when completing registration, the user acknowledges having read, understood, and accepted these terms in their entirety.

Charta reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after a modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Registration and Account

Registration requirements

To use the platform, the user must be at least 18 years old or have the authorization of a legal representative, provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration, and have a valid email address.

Account security

The user is solely responsible for the confidentiality of their login credentials. Any activity carried out from their account is deemed to have been performed by them. In the event of unauthorized use of their account, the user must notify Charta immediately at contact@chartahup.app.

Team

When completing their registration, the user creates or joins a team. The team administrator is responsible for managing members and access rights within it.

Service Description

Charta is a SaaS document management platform that allows users to:

Documents — Create, import, organize, and manage documents.
Signature — Send documents for electronic signature.
Workflows — Configure validation and approval workflows.
Batch processing — Perform bulk operations on documents.
Collaboration — Manage a team and collaborate on documents.

Charta strives to ensure the service is available 24/7, without however guaranteeing permanent availability. Interruptions for maintenance, updates, or force majeure may occur.

Electronic Signature

The electronic signature offered by Charta is a simple electronic signature within the meaning of the eIDAS Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014. It does not constitute a qualified or advanced electronic signature within the meaning of that same regulation.

Charta does not guarantee that the electronic signature will be accepted or recognized by any authority, jurisdiction, or third party. The user is informed that the legal value of the signature may vary depending on the jurisdiction and the type of document concerned. It is the user's responsibility to verify that the type of signature is suitable for their needs.

For users located in the United States, this electronic signature is designed to comply with the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). These laws do not define signature tiers as European law does: they rely on clear intent to sign and reliable proof of the document's integrity after signing — both of which Charta's audit trail (timestamp, identity, cryptographic fingerprint of the document) provides.
